It’s live on Nintendo’s website, though pre-orders are not yet available. WRC 9 will carve its way onto the Nintendo Switch on March 11, 2020. If you’ve played V-Rally 4, which was made by the same dev studio, then you’ll at least have an idea of what to expect from the difficulty curve of a WRC game. But, just be prepared to learn a lot in the way of patience and acceptance. If you really want to know the ins-and-outs of being a pro-driver, this is the title for it. There’s also a crew and career management aspect to the title, which involves balancing your team and keeping an eye on your finances. The handling of the vehicles takes a lot to master, and the environments can be quite unforgiving. This series is really geared (pun intended) towards more hardcore racing fans. They have a tendency of beating you into submission if you’re a novice. While some titles do merely claim to be sim-like (read: Gear.Club Unlimited 2 – Tracks Edition), the WRC titles are not ones to be taken lightly. Back to the dirtįor the uninitiated, the WRC series is not your typical run-of-the-mill racer. There are also new pacenotes that add to the immersion factor of the experience. WRC 9 features an improved physics engine along with redesigned environments for even more eye-candy. On top of just adding more content to the mix, the developers have also gone ahead and spruced up the gameplay itself. This allows payers to tailor-make their own championship and then take the challenge online to compete against other players. This entry also happens to be a little more community-focused thanks to the inclusion of the new Clubs system. The game also sports 15 classic cars and 100 special stages to tackle for an extra challenge. It kicks up more dirt than its predecessor with three new countries (Japan, New Zealand, and Kenya) that offer new rallies, thus meaning more challenges to conquer. WRC 9 for Switch is a continuation of the hit annual rally simulation series. It’s a few months late behind other platforms, but at least that’s better than not coming at all. The WRC game series has been well-supported on the Switch for the last few years ago, so it was expected that Nacon would bring the latest entry over. That title is none other than Nacon and KT Racing’s WRC 9. Yet another racing game will be speeding its way onto the Switch, and it’s coming quite soon.
